STRATEGIC PLANNING

What is a Facility Strategy?
A facility strategy is based on a clear understanding of priorities. Every organization, whether an institution, a sales or service business, or a manufacturer, is structured around a central operation.

An effective plan for facility change must recognize this "nucleus" and the fundamental procedures and infrastructure which support it. A facility strategy is a carefully orchestrated approach to implementing change in the work environment which "connects the dots" between current infrastructure conditions, long-term objectives, operational priorities, and time and budget constraints.

Why a Facility Strategy?
A facility strategy is a vital component of a successful business. If properly developed, it provides the logistics of change, the timelines and the costs, long before implementation. By "mapping" the relationship between operations and physical infrastructure, a facility strategy is able to identify, on a prioritized basis, the logical sequence of activities which must be undertaken over time, and correlates outcome with budget restrictions.

Getting the most out of a facility infrastructure pays big dividends. The challenge is to provide an infrastructure which rapidly responds to changes in demand while maintaining or enhancing service delivery. A facility strategy provides invaluable insight into the actual ramifications of transformation. It correlates facility solutions with business objectives, and provides a reality check long before hindsight wishes one had.

A carefully planned Facility Strategy recognizes
the value of a planned outcome.
